Mudshine Films is owned by Virginia Pitts, an award-winning filmmaker with experience in fiction, documentary, dance-film and docudrama for film, TV and video production. She has been commissioned and employed by (amongst others) Channel 4, BBC2, the New Zealand Film Commission, James Wallace Productions, South Pacific Pictures and TVNZ. Her short films have been selected for over 35 international film festivals (including Berlin, Locarno, Montreal and Edinburgh), toured art galleries and sold to numerous TV networks (including Canal+, Showtime TV & the NBC). Virginia also self-shoots, produces and edits lower budget projects that she directs.

In addition, Virginia works in screenplay development, either as a script editor or assessor, and runs collaborative film development workshops in Europe and Australasia.

Whether working on a sizeable production directing a large cast and crew, or a low budget project as a self-shooting, producing and editing director, she brings total commitment, enthusiasm and years of experience to each and every job.
